Attraction
Tarascan Fountain
The bronze landmark that marks the start of the Aqueduct promenade.
About this experience
Tarascan Fountain
Three indigenous Purépecha women hold up a large bowl of tropical fruit. The original sculpture vanished mysteriously in 1940; the current bronze was cast in 1984 and quickly became the most photographed monument in Morelia.
It sits at the western end of the Aqueduct, the natural meeting point between the colonial center and Avenida Acueducto's restaurants.
Insider tips
- Pair it with a stroll down the Calzada Fray Antonio de San Miguel, lined with ash trees.
